Why Does the Media Even Care About Palin and Her Daughter?

It disgusts me that these people, who we loosley refer to as journalists, would care to publish anything about a young woman's virginity or lack thereof. What in the world has this young woman ever done so wrong to have to endure the media's ire? What would have happened if she had aborted her child instead of giving birth? Can you even imagine?
